Years Racing: 1

Objectives:

To be part of a team, with a common goal to promote the great sport of Mountain Biking by participating in as many races as possible. To have fun while improving personal bike/racing skills by learning from team mates.  To have an opportunity to support team mates at events even if I cannot race.  I want to be a strong and positive force for my team.  Next year I plan to compete in the Endurance Cup Series (Fun Promotions) and All the XC Marathons!  My Goal for 2007 is to continue to improve my racing skills in the sport class starting with proper preparation.  Since Mountain Bike racing is as much mental as physical, I recognize my needs in handling skills.  This year I have made hill climbing my specialty. For 2007 the descents (from significant hills) will be improved with my ability to handle higher speeds with more control.  I have already enjoyed some improvements as the season progressed through August with the Pontiac Lake XC event.  My endurance will increase, through this season. My racing will not end in 2007. But I will be the best I can be next year, with continuous improvements year after year.

Volunteer Work / Accomplishments:

  • Mountain Bike Trail work, with South East Chapter and the Flint/Holly Chapter. 36 hours as of (10/3/2006).

I believe that mountain biking is beneficial for everyone. I want to share my life changing experiences with anyone who may be where I was before I got involved.

While it is great that Michigan has many trails to choose from, these trails would not exist without hard work.  Being responsible is first priority when protecting our access to some of the nations excellent trails.  Providing just a few hours of trail work a month makes a difference for all those in this sport.

  • IMBA/MMBA Trail Crew Chief Certificate.

In order to step up my trail work effectiveness, I have participated in the IMBA recognized trail building training.  I will continue my training into 2007.

Other Sports/Activies:

  • Okinawan Uechi-Ryu Karate Do.
